Thousands of Indonesian Citizens Crowd the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore to Celebrate the Victory of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah



Singapore, 31 March 2025 – Thousands of people consisting of various community organizations and the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore, Indonesian migrant workers in Singapore, Bank Indonesia and Indonesian SOEs in Singapore, and other members of the public crowded the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore to perform the Eid al-Fitr prayer on 1 Shawwal 1446 Hijriah which falls on 31 March 2025. 



People had been arriving at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore since 06.30 local time. The Eid al-Fitr prayer held at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore began at 08.00 local time and was led by the Imam and Khatib Ustadz Ulul Azmi. The prayer was attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryo Pratomo and Mrs. Noeri Widowati, officials and staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, and Indonesian SOEs in Singapore.



 In his sermon with the theme Values of the Believer, Gratitude, and Sincerity, Ustadz Ulul Azmi invited the people present to be grateful for the gifts bestowed by Allah S.W.T. and to continue to practice in seeking the pleasure and mercy of Allah S.W.T. He also emphasized the need for sincerity to be used as a basis for improving oneself and developing society and the country. 



After the Eid prayer, the Indonesian people and diaspora performed gathering with the Indonesian Ambassador and Mrs. Noeri Widowati, as well as officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. The Indonesian Ambassador and Mrs. Noeri had the opportunity to interact directly with the Indonesian community and diaspora who were orderly taking turns doing greetings. 






This gathering aims to strengthen ties between the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, the community and the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore, as well as strengthening the spirit of unity and togetherness in celebrating victory after the month of Ramadan. 





The Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore and Mrs. Noeri Widowati, expressed their hope that this event could become an opportunity to strengthen relations between Indonesia and Singapore, as well as increase the sense of togetherness between fellow citizens and the Indonesian diaspora living in Singapore.***
